WHO WE ARE

The Jenkins’ Team

  • PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER

Meet Kai, our awesome President, CEO and Co-founder, he has a profound passion for building custom homes, vibrant communities, and strong teams. From early childhood, Kai’s fascination with construction started with countless hours assembling Lego sets and creating tree forts for the neighbourhood.

Today, Kai’s commitment to building has only intensified, with a focus on crafting exceptional “treehouses” and contributing to the development of neighbourhoods on the Sunshine Coast, West Vancouver, and Sea to Sky corridor, places where work and play seamlessly blend.

In his early twenties, he resided in Victoria and Vancouver, engaging in life at UVIC, cycling and construction work. His adventurous spirit led him to Europe, where he pursued an amateur cycling career. However, his heart remained tied to British Columbia, and Kai returned to Victoria's Bear Mountain to embark on a flourishing construction career, working on single and multi family homes.

Kai’s life journey brought him back to Sechelt in the mid-2000s, where he embraced an apprenticeship as a carpenter. Over the years, Kai honed his skills by working on diverse projects, ranging from off-the-grid vacation homes to custom waterfront residences in awe-inspiring locations on the Sunshine Coast and the greater Vancouver area.

Kai takes immense pride in cultivating strong relationships with valued customers and his dedicated staff. Beyond Kai’s professional achievements, he values his role as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and son. Family holds a special place in his heart, and he takes great pride in the positive impact they create within the community and among his team members. Together, with an unwavering commitment to excellence, Kai’s exceptional professionalism is dedicated to turning dreams into tangible realities, one construction project at a time.

  • CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER & CO-FOUNDER

Kristin has been an entrepreneur for as long as she can remember. Following in the footsteps of the 3 generations before her, she realized early in life she had a passion for building and running businesses.

Her first endeavour was sewing bait bags for her dad’s commercial fishing company when she was around 8. Soon she was selling bags to fishermen up and down the coast.

Kristin studied Business Management at UBCO in Kelowna before following her heart back home to the Sunshine Coast to take over managing one of her dad’s enterprises. She met Kai and shortly after they started their beautiful family. The dream was always to start their own company, and after 7 years of running a large welding company while Kai completed his apprenticeship and became a Red Seal Carpenter with foreman experience, Kai and Kristin had built the foundation needed to successfully start Jenkins Construction. In 2014, with a baby on her hip and another at her feet, Kristin incorporated Jenkins Construction with $200 in their bank account and a borrowed laptop from her dad.

Kristin thrives off building a business that people are proud to work for. She loves that the company provides a great life style for all employees and welcomes Jenkins staff as family. Her favourite part of every build is going to sites and watching the staff light up when they showcase their talents. And then being invited into customers homes after completion and watching them glow with happiness and pride of their new home.

At home, Kristin is happiest watching her kids chase their dreams. She has worn many hats as a mom but her favourite is cheerleader.
