Position Overview:

We seek an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our team. Journeyman Carpenters perform various tasks in all stages of construction, ensure building codes and regulations compliance, and are expected to contribute an added level of skill to our teams and sites. The ideal candidate should hold a Journeyman certification or the equivalent in carpentry experience, have a strong foundation in residential custom home building, and the capabilities to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency on every project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize carpentry tools and equipment to perform various tasks in all stages of residential construction.

• Read and interpret blueprints, architectural plans, and specifications.

• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and permits.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful work environment.

• Troubleshoot and solve problems with precision and accuracy.

• Assist the Foreman and/or Project Manager in planning and coordinating tasks, tools and materials, crew and trades.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with crew members, clients and trades to ensure project success.

• Complete assigned tasks within established timelines.

Requirements:

• High school diploma.

• Red Seal Journeyman Carpentry Certification is preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in construction at a Carpenter level.

• High competence in at least 2 of the main building stages: formwork, framing, siding, and finishing.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Carpentry tools and PPE.

• Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Sunshine Coast.

• Ability to lift 60 lbs as required.
