VERTES RETREAT

Carved from stone and resting near the towering Caren Range of Spipiyus Provincial Park alongside Sakinaw Lake the development vision for a family retreat was one that intersects beautifully with the natural topography. The design team led by Julian Carnrite of Woven Architecture artfully elevates its surroundings. Form and function dominate this family retreat as the wide open views and architectural details meet. The use of board form concrete punctuates the metal, wood and glass aesthetic as lines disappear to create all that is possible when world class teams collide.

Working on a steep, uneven, and heavily treed lot, the build demanded thoughtful sequencing, meticulous coordination, and an unwavering commitment to quality. The Jenkins team executed the complex structure with care - from the precision placement of concrete work and structural framing to the seamless integration of wood, steel, and glazing that characterize the home’s calm, contemporary interior. Every material junction, every soffit line, and every custom finish was carried out with the restraint and refinement the design called for.
